Heather is an Associate Professor at Deakin University. She obtained her optometry degree from the University of Bradford and worked at Newcastle General Hospital and in general practice before moving to Australia in 1996. She worked in contact lens research before moving to the field of glaucoma to complete her PhD at the Department of Ophthalmology, University of Melbourne. She has been at Deakin University since 2013 as Head of Clinical Skills and is now Head of Clinical Optometric Placements. Heather also works as an optometrist in the Glaucoma Monitoring Clinic at the RVEEH. Her research interests include glaucoma, dry eye disease and teaching methodologies.

Dr Amanda Douglass is a clinical optometrist, credentialed optometrist, and vision scientist with research interests in eye movements, attention, and colour vision. She currently holds a position as a Lecturer in Optometry and Vision Sciences at The University of Melbourne. As part of her research, Amanda has examined various aspects of vision for pilots including colour perception with laser eye protection, and the use of colour in visual displays.

Colin is a lecturer in optometry and vision science and has a special interest and broad experience in paediatric optometry and binocular vision disorders. He coordinates the Deakin University School Vision Screening Program and Clever Eyes + paediatric clinic at the Waurn Ponds campus. Before academia Colin worked as a clinical optometrist both in the Scottish Hospital Eye Service and in numerous private practices.

Dr Andrew Huhtanen is the Clinic Director of Melbourne Eyecare Clinic at the University of Melbourne. He has a strong interest in anterior ocular disease, advanced contact lenses and managing complex conditions such as paediatric aphakia, keratoconus and corneal grafts. He is an academic specialist in the Department of Optometry and Vision Sciences at the University of Melbourne where he regularly lectures and teaches.

Hirdesh, a passionate optometrist and seasoned professional with over 19 years of experience in the optical industry, serves as the Professional Development Manager at Johnson & Johnson Vision Care Australia & New Zealand since 2019. In this pivotal role, he focuses on enhancing optometry clinical education, driving growth in the contact lens category, and improving visual and lifestyle outcomes for patients.

Hirdesh's journey in the optical industry has been marked by diverse roles, including Professional Services Manager, Contact Lens Buyer, Optometry Learning & Development Consultant, and Clinical Optometrist. His comprehensive experience blends both professional and commercial acumen, evident in his successful initiatives and projects throughout his career.

Dr Bob Wang is a cataract, glaucoma, and medical retina specialist.  After completing degrees in both medicine and optometry, Bob undertook ophthalmology training at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital (RVEEH). He subsequently completed a Fellowship in Medical Retina at Royal Free Hospital in London, United Kingdom. After returning to Melbourne, he completed a second Fellowship in Glaucoma at the RVEEH.  Bob holds public hospital consultant appointments at the RVEEH, The Alfred Hospital and Monash Health. He is also an Adjunct Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Medicine at Monash University.

Associate Professor Zhichao Wu is a Principal Investigator and Head of Clinical Biomarkers Research at CERA, Honorary Principal Fellow at the University of Melbourne, and an optometrist.
